Adecco is currently recruiting for a Policy Advisor - Protection of Information. This is a 6 Month contract, to work Remotely with our Client in Ontario. The successful candidate must hold a valid Reliability Security Clearance or be eligible for one.
The objective of this engagement is to redefine The Client’s policy on the classification and handling of The Client’s data and lead a sustained campaign throughout The Client to raise the awareness of the requirements and processes involved in applying and interpreting/ using data classification labels. The Client generates a significant amount of data each year, some of which is commercially sensitive in nature, some of which falls under Canada’s Treasury Board guidelines for Protected and Classified information.
The Protection of Information Specialist will have the following responsibilities:
Review of existing procedures and other documents containing requirements, instructions to label information, best practices;
Revise the Client’s information protection and classification standard;
Develop awareness, training and communications material for distinct audiences:
Science & Technology, Operations, Environmental Remediation Management, Business Management, Employees providing support and advice on data classification and labelling.
Conduct workshops, virtual round table discussions and training sessions.
The Protection of Information Specialist must meet the following mandatory requirements:
5+ years as a Subject matter expert in the area of Policy Advisor and Information Protection;
Familiar with the application of Government of Canada Treasury Board guidelines to Protected and Classified information;
Solid understanding of commercial requirements to classify and protect data, namely the sensitivity of business information in general as well as intellectual property;
Experience developing documentation to capture and communicate information to employees;
Implementation/ communication/ training plans;
First-hand experience with data classification and protection software;
Hands on experience with Revising Protection of Information Standards and Metrics and KPI’s necessary to measure the program’s effectiveness.
Nice to Have:
Roadmaps: Itemized list of controls, prioritized by risk and impact, to either configure in The Client’s existing tools, or requiring the implementation of new software;
Friendly “how-to” SharePoint site delivering the Standard’s content in an easy to use format;
Legacy data mitigation;
Legacy Data Review.
