We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman Powerline Technician to join our client located in the Kootenay region of BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical power systems and equipment. This role is essential to ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of electricity to our client's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair high voltage power transmission and distribution systems and equipment.
  • Work on energized and de-energized power lines and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with electrical systems and equipment.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, and test equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to perform tasks.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times to ensure the safety of oneself and others.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors.

    • Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Powerline Technician certification or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in powerline maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical theory and the National Electrical Code.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

    • Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, use hands to grasp, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions and at various heights.
