Adecco is currently recruiting for a full-time Procurement Advisor, to work at a well-established energy company majoring in the production of synthetic crude from oil sands, in Calgary, AB. In this role, you will be primarily focusing on establishing purchase orders to meet business and operational needs in a timely manner.

  • Shifts: Monday-Friday | 8 AM – 5 PM

  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Business Units to understand and forecast
    the demand for goods and services
  • Research, select and purchase quality products and materials, analyze market trends and
    apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions
  • Build relationships, negotiate contracts, and improve prices and terms of business with
    suppliers and review opportunities to provide business value
  • Provide analysis on costs, new and existing, and review cost reduction activities
  • Acquire and apply knowledge of applicable rules, legislations, regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems, which may impact business operations
  • Prepare reports and updates as and when required
  • Engage vendors to resolve price, quality, and delivery or invoice issues and provide
    after-hours buyer on-call support
  • Maintain accurate and effective documentation and record management in accordance to record retention guidelines
  • Apply commercial skills to achieve the lowest total system cost
  • Respond to market changes to sustain competitive prices  Requirements and Qualifications: 
  • Post-secondary Business or Supply Chain background is preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years in a Supply Chain or a Procurement related role is a must
  • Experience in Oil and Gas industry preferred
    Experience with ERP system SAP
  • Excellent communication skills and effective interaction with suppliers and team is crucial for success
  • Demonstrate a broad understanding of Supply Chain Management (SCM)
