Adecco is currently recruiting for a Procurement Manager. This is a full-time permanent role with our client located in Ottawa, ON. Ideal candidate will manage the Supplier Relationship Management capability under the Procurement function. This resource will be reporting to the Director of Procurement.

The Procurement Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Develops, promotes, manages and owns the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Operating Model (governance, processes, resourcing, and tools).
  • Performs periodic reviews (program/processes for effectiveness, considers industry trends), analyzing capability outcomes, providing insights and making recommendations for enhancement and changes as required.
  • Liaises with Business Units/Corporate Functions for all SRM related activities.
  • Builds partnerships with Business Units/Corporate Functions relationship owners and Category Managers.
  • Primary contact to maintain effective communications between all internal stakeholders with regards to SRM.
  • Responsible for supporting the application of SRM scorecards; ensures the application of scorecards in supplier management activities.
  • Reports all required information supporting supplier dashboard attributes, including completing and/or facilitating completion of annual/semi-annual/quarterly templates.
  • Maintains and tracks all issues/risks and determine if issues/risks are resolved.
  • Tracks and reports on goals established in the Business Essential Supply plans underway by Procurement and Materials Management.
  • Ensures that pre-supplier selection processes have been completed such as user requirements and segmentation, etc., in collaboration with process owners.
  • Coordinates standardized assessment of supplier capabilities to ensure the supplier’s product is manufactured, packaged and shipped under a controlled process and that the supplier has the stability, capacity and infrastructure to support an ongoing relationship with the organization
  • Identifies and tracks opportunities for the organization and suppliers to collaborate in the development of new technology/products.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • The Procurement Manager must meet the following mandatory requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree, preferably in business.
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience and 5 to 7 years of experience in supplier relationship management (e.g., capability development, facilitating supplier review meetings, supplier’s performance and/or risk management)
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical setting or any other highly stringent medical space highly desired
  • Experience leading a team and/or project
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • cGMP training at the advanced level is desirable;
  • Exceptional analytical & reporting skills – e.g., MS Office power user with an ability to analyze data from various sources and deliver succinct, accurate and actionable information.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills with an ability to actively listen and clearly articulate messages in English are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience with procurement process improvement.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management/multi-tasking skills.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage and implement major projects on a national scale.
  • Some travel may be required.
