Product Associate Engineer

Adecco is currently hiring for a Product Associate Engineer for our Medical Manufacturing client in Ottawa West. This is a 1-year contract opportunity offering full time hours, Monday – Friday. The salary for this position will be determined based on education and experience.

As a Product Associate Engineer, you will:

  • Use hands-on problem solving to solve product performance issues linked to coagulation assays our site manufactures
  • Learn to use the i-STAT handheld analyzer and cartridges to run blood and test fluids in the lab to investigate performance issues.
  • Learn to use statistical software and massive data sets to analyze test results and process data.
  • Learn skills applicable to any manufacturing or service process by using the Six Sigma problem solving process to investigate key performance issues, including: process mapping, MSA, process capability assessment and statistical hypothesis testing.
  • Use state-of-the-art measurement systems to identify component related causes to performance issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with suppliers, R&D scientists, engineers, technicians, and operators to investigate problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Design experiments that include large manufacturing runs and tests.
  • Skills and Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/applied science, preferably chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or chemistry, biochemistry, or life science.
  • Proven analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and statistics.
  • Effective at collaborating with a variety of people and understanding/communicating their requirements.
  • Self-directed, proactive, and not easily discouraged.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and scheduling skills.
  • Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
