Adecco is currently recruiting for a Production Coordinator Planner/Scheduler for a temp to perm contract with our Client in Etobicoke, ON.

The Rebar Planner / Scheduler is responsible for organizing the flow of reinforced steel and related products in our Rebar shops in order to meet customer demand and facilitate efficient operations. This will include monitoring of inventory levels, determining production requirements and planning and organizing outgoing shipments. The Rebar Planner / Scheduler will interact on a daily basis with customers and our shops to deal with conflicts and provide appropriate and timely resolutions to customer’s needs. Solid communication and interpersonal skills are essential with a strong personality to handle the daily conflicts that come from this challenging position.

The successful incumbent will be working 40+ hours per week in an office setting with time also required on the shop floor and in the inventory yard. Exposure to the elements as well as loud noises. Safety equipment – boots, hard hat, safety glasses and hearing protection will be required.

The Product Coordinator Planner/Scheduler representative will have the following responsibilities:

  • Participate in forecasting plant loads
  • Identifying / recommending appropriate inventory levels by working closely with the Sales and Purchasing groups.
  • Assist the shops in sourcing and procuring specialty items (ie. Couplers, tie wire).
  • Answer general telephone inquiries, regarding the rebar division products of Salit Steel.
  • Receive customer orders and advise customer when material will be available.
  • Develop capacity / loading plans and allocate the work to the operating locations.
  • Receive or generate production tags. Organize tag files and issue tags to production.
  • Post schedule board and updates with customer delivery details.
  • Receive information from the Production Superintendent and or Lead Hands regarding order progress.
  • Schedule and Coordinate the efficient delivery of materials with customers (building shipments to optimize weights and delivery times) in conjunction with the Trucking group.
  • Enter order information into database, as required.
  • Receive and forward bill of lading for incoming rebar.
  • Generate and issue the appropriate bill of lading to comply with invoicing requirements

The Production Coordinator Planner/Scheduler must meet the following mandatory requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience a Supply Chain / Logistics or Production Coordination role.
  • Efficient and knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office products and other Inventory Management software applications.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Experience in providing strong customer service
