Adecco is currently recruiting for a full time permanent Production Lead in Surrey, BC. The Production Lead will be responsible for assisting with the day to day operations of the plant ensuring products are produced according to standards, technical specifications and customer requirements in a healthy work environment.
You will participate in the planning and organization of production in collaboration with services such as human resources, planning, technical services and quality assurance in order to detect and resolve production issues.
Our client is a well established manufacturer located in Surrey. They are offering a competitive salary, bonus, vacation and benefits.
This is a Monday – Friday 3pm – 11:30pm shift where you will oversee a team of 10-15 product employees.
Production Lead Responsibilities:
Organizes and controls the work of their team to ensure optimal production performance.
Perform technical duties such as weight/spec adjustments on the machines as well as assist with changeovers.
Communicates regularly with each member of the team. Able to supervise a team of at least 10 employees.
Monitors current production to ensure operational targets are met.
Mobilize team around common goals to ensure superior performance and retention of team members.
Treats team members with dignity and respect, ensures their development and fulfillment at work.
Ensure compliance with corporate safety standards and applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
Evaluates the performance of each member of his team, performs positive reinforcement or addresses changes as appropriate by carrying out rigorous follow-ups to ensure production objectives are met.
Ensures the production of containers in quantity and quality as scheduled.
Facilitate shift start meetings, participate in monthly operations meetings and other committees as appropriate.
Work with management and other shift supervisors in developing best practices.
Manage the employee performance cycle, including interviewing candidates, training and development of team members, recommending advancement and promotions, coaching counselling and employee discharge.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess 3 to 5 years experience in management and / or supervision of personnel in a manufacturing environment. Additional training around operations would be an asset.
Experience with Lean Management and Continuous Improvement preferred.
The candidate must stand out for his team spirit, his autonomy, his leadership, and his ability to coordinate several actions with several different stakeholders (on different shifts).
Excellent communication skills in the English language both verbal and written.
Strong Communicator with outside of the box thinking.
Experience with KPI and deadlines preferred.
Autonomous, dependable, planning, delegation and teamwork.
Be a team player, energetic, determined and who has a good capacity for synthesis and analysis.
Being open and have good listening skills.
Organizational skills and manage priorities well.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflicts.
Great sense of autonomy and initiative.
Good working knowledge and ability to navigate a PC windows environment, including shared drives.
Strong skills and experience using Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook & Excel).
