Our client in Toronto, ON who is a leader in their industry is looking for a Production Supervisor to join their team on a fulltime permanent basis. The Production Supervisor will manage the production of all products with all production personnel 4 shifts 24 hrs/day 7 days/week with respect to safety, quality, technology, training, maintenance and the environment. Ideal candidate will have 8 to 10 years of experience in a supervisory position in a manufacturing environment.

Production Supervisor Responsibilities:

To conduct daily production huddles, review schedules, back-orders, break-downs, maintenance issues and quality issues.

To prepare, file and maintain production reports related to the number of units produced, quality records, experimental products and reject reports.

To oversee the packaging of finished goods and movement of finished product to the warehouse.

To check inventory levels with the Production Control Department and conduct weekly audits of finished inventory reviewing finished product information for sales and discrepancies.

To participate in the co-ordination of annual plant shut-down and schedule maintenance activities, logistics, and plant start-up.

Responsible to ensure all ISO standards are met (50001, 14001 & 9001) along with any other application Environmental Health and Safety legislations, regulations and standards.

To administer and manage the piecework ticket system, distribution of tickets, as well as review and maintain up-to-date piece work records.

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR REQUIREMENTS:

8 to 10 years of experience in a supervisory position in a manufacturing environment
College diploma or university degree preferred
Safety and quality conscious
Possess a willingness and desire to lead. Must be able to motivate, inspire and mentor people to realize goals
Ability to exercise sound judgement
Technical expertise with continuous improvement, value stream mapping, 5S, and lean Six-Sigma are relevant and desirable
Experience and knowledge of ERP systems and material flow
Excellent communication and organizational skill required with the ability to work well with all levels of employees and internal departments to exceed our customer’s expectations while meeting our business goals
Strong interpersonal and communication skills involving a diverse workforce
Must be proficient in Office applications
Possess comprehensive production process and methods, machine and equipment capabilities and human resource requirements
Experience in process based quality systems, including ISO 9001. Knowledge of manufacturing and inspection processes, statistical process controls, process mapping, process analysis, and tools for process improvement
Six Sigma certification is an asset
