Our client in Scarborough, ON is looking for a Production Supervisor to join their team on a fulltime permanent basis. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the successful and timely production of customer orders and for ensuring that employees are working in accordance with health and safety and environmental regulations and standards.

Production Supervisor Responsibilities:

Completes production inspection to ensure batches are manufactured as required and assigned work is on schedule.

Disciplines employees when policies, rules of conduct or procedures are not followed.

Ensures that work orders are completed for all equipment issues.

Initiates plant start up / shut down as required.

Gets production status update from outgoing foreman.  Gives production status update to incoming fireman at end of shift.

Reviews log books, e-mails etc. to ensure communications are maintained between Production and all other departments.

Inputs all relevant information in logs and reports (i.e. QC test results, product adjustments, reactor status, absences, etc.).

Determines raw material requirements for scheduled production.  Completes and submits to Receiver, raw material request form.

Determines amount of product, from which tank and into which containers, customer orders will be filled.  Determines which tank product will be stored once manufactured.  Ensures that all relevant paperwork is completed.

Works with Lean Six Sigma green belts to ensure that required Lean Six Sigma data is collected and instituted improvements and controls are implemented.

Works with Operations Manager and Production Scheduling to ensure timely disposition of non-conforming product, old stock and raw material.

Ensures health and safety and environmental procedures are followed.


Production Supervisor Qualifications:

Post secondary education (preferably in Chemistry).

At least 5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing environment (preferably chemical industry).
