Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent, full-time Production Supervisor in Edmonton, AB to work for well-established and leading company majoring in building material systems. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing and packaging processes in your dedicated area.

The ideal candidate must be viewed as a clear and credible communicator with the ability to implement procedures and practices that ensure sustainable performance of the plant.

  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe, efficient work environment through employee coaching and engagement and strict adherence to safety policies and procedures while conducting activities
  • Analyze and consolidate quality data and metrics to identify and quantify trends, improvements, and opportunities
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues that are impacting quality, productivity, or safety
  • Respond to quality standards and processes to ensure consistent identification of non-conformances
  • Responsible for the set-up and changeover of machines in order to eliminate downtime
  • Participate in or lead initiatives to eliminate waste and improve operating efficiencies, labour productivity and ability to ship product
  • Participate in projects to drive continuous improvement deliverables, working with Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain and Customers as necessary
  • Maintain standard operating procedures, which include, but are not limited to, standard work sheets, quality management processes and procedures, customer product specifications and corrective actions resulting from any defects reported, either internally or externally
  • Ensure that process improvements employ visual management controls consistent with company principles and best practices and that all actions are driven to closure as well as controlled and sustained
  • Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required, Collage diploma or University degree are preferred
  • A bias for action, and safe operating practices
  • Ability to create and drive change and effectively communicate to all levels in the organization
  • Experience or training in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • Experience leading people in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Highly organized and able to adapt to constantly changing demands and priorities
  • The knowledge and ability to motivate and influence people to implement change, manage multiple priorities and effectively communicate results
  • Able to lead TPM-AM roll out in production areas
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment as well as effectively facilitate open two-way communication both within and outside of the organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SAP and Outlook
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with customers and suppliers
  • Results-oriented with a high level of self-direction, initiative and focus on customer satisfaction
