Adecco is hiring for a Programmer Analyst at one of Canada's leading debt recovery agencies. Working closely with the big banks, utility providers and hospitals, you ill be required to design and develop software products using C#.


  • Write code through the use of computer languages, such as C#, Java, UniVerse BASIC
  • Work closely with IT staff, managers, and end users in the organization or with client organizations to develop, maintain, and test computer programs
  • Develop computer programs
  • Figure out the process of designing, writing, testing, debugging/troubleshooting and maintaining the source code of computer programs.
  • Confirm project requirements by reviewing program objective, input data, and output requirements with business analyst, Director and client
  • Arranges project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; prepare a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic
  • Encode project requirements by converting work flow information into computer language
  • Program the computer by entering coded information.
  • Confirm program operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or codes
  • Prepare reference for users by writing operating instructions
  • Maintain historical records by documenting program development and revisions
  • Maintain client confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
  • Ensure operation of equipment by following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Specific responsibilities;

  • Create APIs for UniVerse DBMS (RedHat platform) using C#, VB or Java
  • Code interface for data exchange for new clients using UniVerse BASIC (training provided)
  • Analyze data reporting variances on UniVerse DBMS
  • Create reports using Excel and Excel macros (VBA) from data sets extracted from UniVerse DBMS
  • Implement new software products
  • Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years development experience using Java or C# or equivalent
  • 5+ years in DBMS or SQL query language
  • 5+ years in Excel / VBA
  • Exposure to UniVerse BASIC or equivalent
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Takes initiative, self-directed, and able to adapt readily to fast paced change
  • Excellent organizational, planning and communication skills
  • Understanding of the application of information technology to support business processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - in both technical and non-technical environments
  • Proficient with personal computer productivity tools such as Microsoft Office
