Adecco Professional Staffing is currently hiring for a Project Accountant job opening in Canada (please note that although this position is remote, you must reside in Canada and work EST hours).  This full-time, temporary Project Accountant is a newly created role for our client, a growing environmental/energy company and will need to be open and flexible to the tasks as the position evolves.  This opportunity has high potential to become a permanent opportunity for the right person and fit so the ideal candidate would be ready to make a career with the organization.

Some of the potential duties and responsibilities of the Project Accountant job opening in Canada include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for maintaining project records and client invoices
  • Preparation and processing of monthly journal entries
  • Verifying project costs and billing to customers
  • Assist in month-end close procedures and vendor statement reconciliations
  • Assist in Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable functions and duties
  • Tax related functions as needed
  • Perform data entry related to financial transactions
  • Collaborate with the various stakeholders to work on various projects
  • Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of spreadsheets, digital and financial records
  • Other accounting and related duties as assigned
    • The qualifications and requirements for the Project Accountant job opening in Canada include:
  • At least 2-3 years of work experience working in a Project Accountant capacity
  • CPA designation an asset
  • Experience in tax a strong asset; education in this also an asset where experience is lacking
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and database software
  • Must have a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong understanding of accounting cycle, principles, and related regulations
  • Must be flexible and efficient with strong organization and execution skills
  • Must be proactive, self-motivated with a team spirit
  • Good oral communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at various organizational levels including non-finance personnel
  • Willingness and ability to learn new and multiple programs relating to various business functions
