Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Project Engineer to work at one of Canada's largest petroleum refiners in Nanticoke, ON. In this role, you will perform engineering design evaluations and work to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering as well as 10-20 years of downstream refining experience.

Free training programs Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborates with the Engineering Manager and Package Engineers to progress FEED and ensure engineered equipment is delivered to support the project schedule
Assists the Project Manager in identifying and implementing the optimum contracting strategy for the execution of the SO2 Reduction work scope
Develops the draft contract documents including the Scope of Work for the SO2 Reduction Construction Contracts
Lead Advanced Work Packaging exercise and ensures AWP principles are appropriately applied to the design and ensure the AWP plan is implemented as designed by the Engineering and Construction contractors
Ensures Construction Contractor execution plans are aligned with the Engineering and Commissioning plans for the project
Manages, stewards, and coordinates all Contractor activity included in the construction contracts; works with Business Manager to ensure internal reporting for assigned contracts is completed
Manages interface between the Construction Contractor and the Engineering Contractor for the SO2 Reduction construction scope; collaborates with the Engineering Manager to ensure execution-related considerations are incorporated in the project engineering deliverables as appropriate
Lead FEEP exercise with the potential construction contractors
Participates in Invitation to Tender (ITT) development, bid evaluation and contractor selection
Participates in identification & sourcing long lead equipment, assuring Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contractor support until equipment is assigned to the contractor
Coordinates development of the Functional Interaction Plan
Coordinates project issues resolution process
Coordinates change requests & endorses change authorization
Responsible for the completion of the assigned work scope consistent with the Project Objectives
Engages Project Team and functional resources to verify that the design & construction is consistent with project specifications & standards
Serves as interface between Project Team & Contractor
Ensures smooth transitions between project stages
Leads Project Management Team (PMT) in applying Project Management Systems Requirements and Qualifications:
Must be local to Nanticoke or willing to relocate
BS degree in engineering field / Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required
10-20 years of downstream refining experience is a must
Experience in multiple assignments in engineering, turnarounds maintenance management, construction, and project management and controls activities
Broad range of experience and skills through multiple function & project assignments (Multi-discipline skill set)
Broad knowledge of design standards, specifications & work processes
Proficient in MS Office suite of software programs
Strong leadership, influencing & interpersonal skills
Strong organizational, coordination, planning & interface skills
Able to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads & frequent changes in priorities
Excellent communication skills & ability to read, write & speak fluent English
