Adecco is currently recruiting for a Project Liaison Coordinator – Bilingual.  This a 24-month contract, full time hour, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate must hold a valid Reliability Security Clearance or be eligible for one. The ideal candidate will be traveling across the Quebec province to connect with different communities (50% office- 50%traveling).

The candidate will be reporting to their office in Quebec City, QC.

The Project Liaison Coordinator – Bilingual will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for enabling Canada Post’s Security & Investigations relationships and outreach with Indigenous peoples & communities; promoting the organization’s services, operations and activities and initiatives that impacts the communities.
  • To collaborate with local Indigenous and Northern Community Leaders, with a view to better understand emerging needs and expectations, and to align the support Security & Investigations can bring to the communities.  This includes efforts to help reduce non-mailable matter, such as alcohol and illicit drugs that enter many of these communities.
  • To support targeted wellness initiatives for citizens residing in Indigenous and Norther communities and help improve our overall service delivery model.
  • To develop specific cultural awareness and training for all Security & Investigations personnel, with a view to strengthening our understanding for community engagement;
  • To support better awareness with our operational workforce and identify the means to improve their relationships with the communities;
  • To research and understand the landscape relating to the trafficking of illicit drugs via the postal system and its impact on communities across the country; and
  • To develop the means to better foster relationships within each of the various communities, so that in turn, we can better facilitate future support. 
  • The Project Liaison Coordinator – Bilingual must meet the following mandatory requirements:

  • Bilingual: French and English;
  • Must have valid driver license and/ or means of transportation;
  • Bachelor’s Degree’ or master’s degree in Public Administration will be considered an asset;
  • understanding of the security and safety needs of the communities;
  • Experience working with/for First Nations communities and Inuit Organizations in Quebec and Labrador;
  • Ideally reside in one of the First Nations communities;
  • Established network with various Aboriginal and governmental agencies;
  • Strong political skills and acumen, which include adaptive and problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of the security and safety needs of the communities; and
  • Separate studies/certificate in psychology and Indigenous studies (or equivalents) considered an asset.
