Adecco is currently recruiting for a Project Manager. This is a full-time permanent role to work with our client located in Gatineau/Ottawa, which promotes a culture of respect in the workplace and a work-family balance for all. We are looking for a Project Manager able to work with a minimum of supervision and who can show initiative.
The Project Manager will have the following responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and track project execution in collaboration with the Project Director on site, from design to completion (including document management, cost control, risk management, sourcing of materials and labor, quality management and environmental compliance, follow-up of data sheets and shop drawings, approval of change orders, commissioning, as well as health and safety; 
  • Negotiating and issuing subcontracts and major purchase orders and monitoring their progress, schedule and conducting subcontract buyout; 
  • Prepare and manage the budget of the construction project; 
  • Understanding and enforcing contractual responsibilities, contract documents and resolving disputes; 
  • Setting up of project reporting procedures (cost reports – labor & material, site office procedures, document drawing control); 
  • Plan and track implementation schedules; 
  • Work closely as part of the project management team to ensure continuous improvement and successful delivery of project;
  • Assist the estimator and the management team in different related tasks;
The Project Manager must meet the following mandatory requirements:
  • 5 years minimum experience in the construction industry; 
  • Diploma in architectural or engineering;
  • To be perfectly bilingual in French and English, (spoken and written);
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle;
  • A sense of leadership, team spirit and great organization skills;
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations of construction;
  • Excellent capabilities of reading plans and specifications; 
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook); 
  • Knowledge of the software Procore is an asset; 
  • PMP and LEED accreditations are assets;
