Adecco is currently hiring for a Purchasing Agent for a client of ours in Uxbridge, ON. To qualify for this temporary to permanent opportunity you must have 3-5 years previous experience as a Purchasing Agent, ideally within a Manufacturing facility with raw materials. This position requires availability from Monday to Friday and offers a starting hourly rate of $30-40/hr depending on years and degree of experience.

Purchasing Agent Duties & Responsibilities;

  • Responsible for managing all facets of the purchasing and materials department as outlined including work order job processing
  • Ensure materials are issued for jobs properly and are updated daily so proper cycle counts can be performed when needed
  • Maintain and organize a clean raw materials inventory warehouse
  • Institute picking slips to the production floor for work orders
  • Implement back flushing of labor properly on a daily basis to get proper GM reporting
  • Ensure proper inventory levels of stock items are maintained
  • Directly responsible for ordering, scheduling and expediting of all materials to ensure timely procurement of raw materials for jobs
  • Track material in house and allocate to jobs where able in order to utilize in-house materials
  • Hold quarterly materials meetings with key personnel to update everyone on the latest material price changes, product availability, and new product offerings
  • Supplier sourcing, negotiations and relations
  • Review of vendors to secure viable vendors at best pricing, service and quality as required
  • Trouble shooting and resolving all material issues with suppliers as required
  • Control of supplier merchandise returns
  • Initiate and track supplier rebate programs
  • Ensure minimum of 5 inventory turns per year is maintained
  • Perform quarterly physical inventory counts
  • Manage reconciliation and costing
  • Purchasing Agent Qualifications;

  • 3-5 years previous experience within a Purchasing role
  • College/University Diploma in Business
  • High Level of working Excel knowledge
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills
