Our client in Scarborough, ON is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their team. This company is a growth focused, insight driven and consumer led company and takes great pride in not only their unique products, but also their close-knit team. The Quality Assurance Manager will take full responsibility of the Food Safety and Quality systems, with focus on improvements of standards and practices, in order to ensure that regulatory compliance and customer specifications are met.

Quality Assurance Manager Responsibilities:

-Provide overall management and leadership to plant's quality assurance and food safety team and ensure products/processes meet quality and food safety standards

- Act as the company's HACCP Team Leader and Mock Recall Team Leader

- Ensures that food safety requirements are met in daily Operations, Sanitation and other departments pertaining to the company

- Initiates corrective actions on process deviation, perform scheduled and unscheduled training of employees, identifies non-conformances as required and studies the root cause of the process and submits to Senior Management for corrective/preventive action plans

- Prepare and maintain Quality Agreements, training documents, private label customer and vendor concerning all quality system, control notifications, product environment and laboratory results

-Onboard new suppliers and maintain approved contract manufacturers through processing, documents and the BRC program

-Review GMP documentation for adherence to GMP regulations and SOPs

- Responsible to maintain both Organic and Free-Trade certifications

- Monitor plant activity to ensure compliance to GMP's implementation of QA policy. Maintains QC/QA documents( policies, procedures and records) as required

Quality Assurance Manager Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Science with a preference for a Microbiology or Food Science background

* Must have worked in food industry with a minimum of three years

* A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience

* Great leader skills

* Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal

* Strong problem solving skills, organization and analytical skills

* PC application ( ie. excel, word, Nav, etc)

* Ability to define performance measures related to the quality, sanitation and food safety

* Team player and have a drive for results
