Quality Assurance Specialist  

Our client is a renowned leader in metal fabrication and machining, known for producing high-precision components and assemblies for various industries. Their commitment to quality and innovation has established their reputation as a trusted partner in the manufacturing sector. We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist who will uphold the highest standards of product excellence. The successful candidate will ensure that all metal fabrication and machining processes meet rigorous quality standards. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control procedures, as well as identifying and addressing quality issues to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control: Perform inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process, and finished machined parts and fabricated assemblies to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, measurements, test results, and non-conformances. Ensure all quality documentation is current and complies with company standards.

  • Compliance: Ensure manufacturing processes comply with ISO standards, industry regulations, and customer specifications. Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in manufacturing processes and quality control systems. Lead or support projects aimed at enhancing product quality, reducing defects, and increasing efficiency.

  • Problem-Solving: Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.

  • Training: Develop and deliver training programs for production staff on quality control procedures, measurement techniques, and standards specific to metal fabrication and machining.

  • Supplier Quality: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and outsourced components. Address supplier-related quality issues and develop improvement plans.

  • Customer Focus: Handle customer complaints related to quality, conduct failure analysis, and provide effective resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Metallurgy, Manufacturing, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control in metal fabrication, machining, or a related manufacturing environment.

  • Certifications: CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), CQA (Certified Quality Auditor), or similar quality certifications are preferred.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS), statistical process control (SPC), and precision measurement techniques. Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

  • Skills: Proficiency in using measurement tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines), and surface finish testers. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and suppliers.

  • Technical: Familiarity with ISO standards, industry regulations, and quality requirements specific to metal fabrication and machining.
