Adecco is currently hiring for a full-time Quality Lab Technician to work a renewable 6-month contract, at one of the world’s largest commercial biorefinery that converts non-recyclable garbage into clean, renewable energy in Edmonton, AB. In this role, you will maintain and troubleshoot analytical equipment, conduct tests on samples using complex procedures, order inventory, interpret data, and assist in writing standard operating procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide logistical and technical support for laboratory activities
Perform maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of lab equipment
Train new Lab Technicians on policy, safety, analytical testing methods, QA/QC programs, procedures, and corrective/preventive actions
Provide technical support to R&D, QA/QC, RFA, ISCC, and process plant programs
Identify improvement opportunities for lab productivity and ensure safety practices
Coordinate shipping and tracking of samples for external lab testing requests
Responsible for wastewater and feedstock management
Collect and analyze samples, record data results, and maintain lab testing requests
Support plant wastewater laboratory with inventory, maintenance, and equipment calibration
Responsible for inventory, ordering, and tracking laboratory supplies
Report non-conformities and problems to supervisor and ensure compliance with environmental
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Technology Diploma is required
Minimum three years of relevant experience is a must
Good knowledge of Organic Chemistry, instrumentation, and regulatory compliance is required
Must have CSTS 2020, Standard First Aid/CPR "A", Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Air Purifying Respirator training, and H2S Awareness
Should be proficient in Windows and LIMS
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken are crucial for success
Should have a sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently, as well as in a team
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
