Adecco is currently hiring a full-time R&D Assembly Op- Tech for a 1 year contract at our Ottawa, ON client’s medical manufacturing facility. The shift is a Monday – Friday and pay rate will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Requirements for R&D Assembly Op Tech -

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent experience
  • College Diploma (2 year program) or equivalent work experience (Asset)
  • 1 to 3 years (basic knowledge as well as general understanding of the job and its practical applications).
  • Some experience or exposure to a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize own daily work to meet established schedule and to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Ability to clearly, concisely and accurately convey communications.
  • Ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationship; display socially and professionally appropriate behavior.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups.
  • Ability to quickly gain knowledge, understanding or skills and willingness to learn.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office and Internet)
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with databases (considered an asset)
  • Programming of databases (considered an asset)
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts (considered an asset)
  • Advanced English (written and oral)

Responsibilities for R&D Assembly Op-Tech  

  • Collaborate and coordinate with the R&D Scheduling Coordinator and R&D Cartridge Assembly team to maximize quality, efficiency and throughput. Follow engineering instructions as they apply to builds or experiments. Process materials in compliance with applicable R&D Assembly procedures.
  • Setup and operate manual line equipment and processes. Provide operators line support to minimize operational downtime. Monitor the prebuild assembly line to identify and resolve disruptions in flow, including operators struggling to meet the prebuild demands.
  • Conduct in-process control monitoring and respond to vision system rejects in compliance with documented procedures.
  • Staff manual line positions as scheduled such as chips-to-base, sensor, pouching and boxing, keeping buffers full to support maximum line performance. Inspect and monitor quality and process rejects in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Elevate quality and productivity observations/problems to help minimize defects, scrap and maximize throughput.
  • Record accurate, timely, and legible data in accordance with documented procedures, abiding by GMP standards and practices.
  • Demonstrate compliant gowning and clean room techniques and maintain a tidy, organized and clean workspace.
  • Communicate ideas and suggestions for improving the Assembly prebuild practices to Leadership.
