Adecco is currently hiring a full-time R&D Operator for our Medical Manufacturing client in Ottawa West. This is a 1-year contract opportunity offering full time hours, Monday – Friday. The salary for this position will be determined based on education and experience.

R&D Operator Responsibilities:
Monitor supplies required for R&D Light labs operation and update inventory to assure an uninterrupted supply for experimental work;
Assist with EHS lab related initiatives such as chemical inventory control and participation in inspections;
Assist with performing experiments, involving activities including cartridge testing, as required to support R&D project and other deliverables;
Communicate as well as interface with and serve the needs of various stakeholders related to laboratory management. This requires a good deal of flexibility and the capacity to manage a fluctuating workload;
Handling a large amount of work efficiently and effectively;
Ensuring that work accomplished is accurate in all relevant aspects;
Acquiring and demonstrating knowledge of safety and health procedures as they relate to the human resources of the organization;
Effectively adapting to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and sudden or frequent changes in priority in order to accomplish objectives;
Staying motivated even when faced with inevitable delays, setbacks, policy shifts and disappointment;
Emphasizing technical resources, applying them effectively, and keeping abreast of the latest developments in new technologies to assess their possible application (and/or ensure their successful implementation) within the workplace.
R&D Operator Qualifications:
Science related College Diploma or Undergraduate Degree.
Experience working within a laboratory setting (>1 year) – required;
Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change and work independently with minimal supervision – required;
Ability to handle a large amount of work efficiently and effectively – required;
Ability to work accurately and precisely – required;
Adheres and advocates to highest safety standards – required;
Ability to train peers on new procedures or processes – required;
Ability to acquire and demonstrate knowledge of safety and health procedures as they relate to the human resources of the organization – required;
Ability to effectively adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and sudden or frequent changes in priority in order to accomplish objectives – required;
Proficient with Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) – required;
Experience working with MS Excel (intermediate or better) – required;
Experience with inventory management – an asset;
Experience working with analytical equipment (>1 year) – an asset;
Experience working within a regulated laboratory environment – an asset;
Experience writing/preparing operational procedures, forms and templates – an asset;
Obtained and applied previous safety training – an asset.
