Adecco is currently recruiting for temporary, full-time Safety Advisors in Calgary, AB, to work a 1- year contract at a well-established energy company majoring in the production of synthetic crude from oil sands. In this diverse role, you will act as a technical advisor, support safety programs, and provide functional leadership while supporting operational excellence in the personal safety area.

  • Location: Calgary, AB | Company Base camp
  • Shifts: 7 days on - 7 days off | Flights provided
  • Job type: Full-time | Temporary | 1-year contract
  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support for environment, health, and safety (EHS) on-site safety programs, procedures, safe work practices, orientations, campaigns, etc.
  • Participate in hazard and control inventory and risk register population and management for EHS hazards, aspects, impacts and risks
  • Interpret and apply EHS regulations that govern the activities, products, and services of the facility to assist leaders in reflecting due diligence in decision making
  • Anticipate, identify, evaluate, and contribute to both proactive and reactive controls to mitigate risk
  • Devise practical and economical solutions to a broad range of health and safety challenges
  • Develop or enhance and then implement standardized processes and systems
  • Establish priorities and performance targets
  • Coach and mentor front-line leaders in areas of core EHS responsibility and competency support
  • Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the EHS function is needed
  • Must have strong knowledge in Fixed plant environment and/or Heavy Equipment
  • Additional Experience in Oilsands is considered an asset.
  • Should have A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Able to build key relationships with cross-functional, internal, and external stakeholders
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
