Seamstress/Tailor (Yorkdale Mall)

Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent, full-time Seamstress/Tailor for our client, a dedicated company that offers quality alteration/tailoring services located in the Yorkdale Mall in Toronto, ON. In this role, you will be responsible for completing sewing and alteration services and using the point-of-sale system to process sales and returns/refunds.   • Pay rate: $17-$20/hour

  • Job responsibilities include:

  • Completing alterations that fit, feel and make customers look great
  • Performing all tasks by honouring the company’s promise of delivering and quality of alterations “Right Away, Same Day, Next Day, On Time Every Time.”
  • Performing final checks on all items to ensure best quality such as checking for any loose threads, uneven seems, discolorations and must hold well for many washes and wears
  • Making sure all items are pressed, free of loose ends, folded and hung nicely in the designated pick-up area
  • Executing tasks in order of time due and difficulty to keep the company’s turnaround time
  • Alteration must be done in sequence as fits the Production Associates’ skill level.
  • Learning new alterations, techniques and uses strengths to coach other team members regularly
  • Following all safe working procedures keeping everyone’s health and safety into consideration
  • Reporting unsafe conditions and injuries/accidents to Manager, HR or Customer Service
  • Using the point-of-sale System (Cash Register) and process a sale and return/ refund
  • Upselling items or services to customers in accordance with customer service policies and BuyBack Program
  • Completing all store audit paperwork
  • Making sure to maintain cleanliness in the store
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Qualifications:

  • Ability to use a point-of-sale system for processing all types of requests
  • Teamwork and professionalism at all times as a representative of the company
  • Ability to learn quickly and solve challenges to reach store goals  
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Must be comfortable with physical requirements include standing, lifting and bending for pinning needs, ability to differentiate between colours, and focused concentration when sewing
