Adecco is currently recruiting for a Data Scientist for a 6-Month contract with a possibility of extension. Our Client is located in Toronto, ON, but the opportunity is a remote position. The successful candidate must hold a valid Reliability Level Security clearance or be eligible for it.
The Data Scientist will have the following responsibilities:
Worked with the Business Intelligence and Analytics team to get familiar with the available pricing data and data fields.
Learn the basics of domestic parcel pricing at Canada Post with support from pricing SMEs.
Develop a new domestic parcel pricing model to support the change in pricing structure and strategy including setting up the data feed, developing the model logic and the user interface.
Develop the price algorithm, with support from pricing SMEs, to be included in the new generic pricing model.
Leverage SAS and other data query tools as required to pull data from multiple sources and amalgamate them into new data sets for analytical and modelling purposes, evaluate key performance metrics, and evaluate trends.
Effectively communicates the business and technical benefits of the analytic solution to both business and technical audiences.
Develops and implements various types of predictive models, segmentation strategies, contact management strategies, multichannel offer strategy, data mining analyses, and performs research and development regarding new innovative analytic techniques, including dynamic pricing, to drive top line and bottom-line growth.
The Data Scientist must meet the following mandatory requirements:
5+ years of relevant analytics experience
3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or a Senior Analyst working in advanced analytics with a focus on simulation, optimization, and predictive models
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools especially Excel and Visual Basic for Applications
Experience with the following tools: PowerBI, Power Query
Experience developing ETL processes, data marts and business intelligence solutions.
Advanced skillset in Python or other similar objectoriented coding languages
Experience in a data querying language such as SQL or SAS
Demonstrated ability to build an analytical plan based on a business issue
Experience with pricing modelling such as dynamic pricing and pricing algorithms is an asset
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
