Senior Logistics Coordinator

Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent full-time Senior Supply Chain Specialist in Ottawa West.

The Senior Supply Chain Specialist (SSCS) is responsible for the execution and design of a supply chain strategy for a customer or group of customers managed within a Customer Focused Team (CFT).  The SSCS is responsible to lead purchasing within the CFT and collaborate with Planning, Customer Service and Account Management to ensure functional and customer requirements are achieved.

As well as being responsible for supplier commodity contract negotiations, quoting and sourcing of raw materials, escalation management, cost reduction, and management of global strategic suppliers to support turnkey manufacturing operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Contribute Supply Chain and Purchasing expertise to the Corporation and customer portfolio.  Be the Supply Chain Expert.
  • Act as the sourcing liaison between customer groups and the Strategic Sourcing Team.
  • Partner with Planning and Account Management teams to manage internal and external communication.
  • Provide Planning and Customer Operations with material availability and risk assessment.
  • Manage discrete PPV to honour customer commitments and recover lost PPV and Purchase Order Variance by utilizing alternate supply lines and creative solutions.
  • Coordinate the creation of Scheduled pricing by collaborating with Account Management & Sourcing.
  • Actively participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) with the customer, reporting supply chain metrics and recommendations.
  • Review and approve ECOs affecting the AVL.
  • Approvals for exception management (MOQ/Source/logistics)
  • Reporting KPIs internally and externally as required.
  • Supplier Management - maintain supplier relationships (full lifecycle), you will need to own all aspects of the relationship.
  • Activity pursue cost reduction programs and contract agreements.
  • Escalation Management - Resolve part/supplier escalations from teams to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Monitor and understand market conditions and volatility and its effect on procurement and inventory.

    Education & Experience:

  • Degree and/or Diploma in related discipline or an appropriate combination of related experience.
  • APICS or related certification.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in purchasing/procurement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience purchasing electronic components and/or procuring metalwork
  • Demonstrated experience meeting customer (internal and external) objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience with the use and development of ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated Manufacturing, Engineering, and Customer Service experience.
  • Knowledge of electronic components.
  • Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge MS Office suite, databases and computer based materials management tools.
  • High level of professional ethics and conduct
  • Strong belief in and use of partnerships in the global supply chain function
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage many tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability in analytical thinking and decision making.
  • Ability to utilize information systems with a focus on process and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of product costing concepts and cost management skills.
  • This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must meet eligibility requirements of the ITAR and of the Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD).

    What we offer:

    Salary up to $75.000 annually
