The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of Project Controls related experience.   • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide a full range of cost-estimating services with a technical understanding of construction estimation
  • Directly support projects or programs
  • Collaborate with project management, teams, and stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Work on low to medium-risk and complexity projects
  • Lead end-to-end estimating processes for project initiatives under $100MM
  • Develop estimates from start to finish and use IPA and internal benchmarking tools
  • Advise on converting estimates into control budgets
  • Support gate review, AFE appropriation documentation, and business case development
  • Analyze foreign exchange impacts on projects
  • Prepare cost estimates for change orders, trends, and extra work orders
  • Challenge change proposals from contractors
  • Participate in technical & commercial bid analysis of packages and construction contracts
  • Synthesize benchmarking analytics and recommend types of benchmarking for ADEM phases
  • Inform project decision-making
  • Ensure project PC compliance with PC processes
  • Measure/track project performance and estimates against metrics and benchmarks
  • Drive continuous improvement and participate in cold eyes reviews
  • Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related field is required
  • AACEI Certified Cost Professional or Certified Estimating Professional is recommended
  • 7+ years of Project Controls related experience
  • 10+ years of estimating experience in Mining, O&G, or other industries
  • Specialized knowledge of project control functions
  • Value-added solutions with stakeholders and external vendor relationships
  • Advanced knowledge of construction drawings and specifications
  • Understanding of procurement methods, scheduling, and their impact on estimating basis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Coaching and influencing skills are a must
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for success
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
