Service Area Manager

Salary: $70,000 - $75,000

Our client employs over 100 service technicians who provide nationwide service on equipment for cooking and food preparation, refrigeration, bakery systems, warewashing and waste systems, as well as weighing, wrapping and labeling systems.


Job Description

Your role as Service Area Manager will be to provide leadership and training for the technicians and to manage the daily operations of the team in your specific region.

Using your strong customer service skills, you will market the clients’ services to existing customers as well as grow the customer base and increase the scope of services provided to them.
 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee execution of day-to-day activities of Technicians, including work and travel schedules, ensuring KPIs are met, annual reviews and individual training plans.
  • Coach and support technicians on service agreements, preventive maintenance agreement, water treatment systems.
  • Ensure processes, procedures and safety are all adhered to.
    • Service Connect Mobile (SCM), Technical Information System (TIS), Inventory Management, Customer Procedures, Safety, Tools etc.
    • PPE use and safe work practices.
  • Organize and deliver local service meetings and reports, including:
    • Revenue, operating income, and operational targets
    • Regular reviews of income statement and profitability reports
    • Reports on selling activities and follow through on action plans
  • Create and maintain customer relations by:
    • Generating new business from both existing and new customers, by following through on sales leads and opportunities
    • Preparing quotations and Service repair estimates, then managing the project installs
    • Handle customer complaints, issues arising from the Tech/Customer contract, invoices and follow up on delinquent accounts receivable.
  • Maintain lifelong relationships with local sales, National Account Managers, and dealers
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • College or high school diploma, preferred Technical diploma/Trade license or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years demonstrated proficiency in a management role in a service related business
  • Strong Technical/Mechanical experience knowledge
  • Experience dealing directly with customers
  • Supervisory experience/direct staff management
  • Computer proficiency
  • Basic understanding of Financials and Profit & Loss Statements
  • Ability to travel for Business
