Service Desk Support Specialist


Adecco is looking for a Service Desk Support Specialist on a permanent basis in Ottawa, West.

Our client is committed and learned team of Apple consultants delivering IT support services to organizations that do not have the internal resources or the capability to implement needed technical solutions to stabilize or enhance day-to-day business operation and productivity. Coupling youthful vigor with studied confidence and bulletproof credibility, they provide their clientele with support, training, and consulting to business throughout the National Capital Region and Eastern Ontario in both of Canada’s official languages.

The Position

You will be the person that our clients rely on to keep their computing devices operating as expected and connected to the servers, networks, devices, systems and services. You will spend time both at our client’s office as well as our own.   

Employment Type: Full Time

Shift: Monday to Friday, 9-5 (some hours required outside of regular office hours and potentially on weekends to support our clients and complete internal and/or clients' projects)

Reports to: Operations Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

This role requires an individual with strong organizational, problem solving, time management, technical and communication skills. This individual will have customer-facing and sales support responsibilities so customer service skills are a must. 

  • Conduct proactive maintenance and reporting of client issues 
  • Responding to client issues, diagnosing and identifying the problem and resolving it in a timely manner
  • Configuring and installing new workstations and other devices and peripherals
  • Accurately maintaining IT asset inventory and client documentation
  • Working with technical team to maintain client uptime and minimize downtime
  • Conducting quality control checks in our managed client environments
  • Participating in IT infrastructure service updates and implementation projects
  • Requirements

  • 2-5 years of previous Technician experience
  • Technical Skills: You must have IT support experience in business environments which includes networking (SonicWALL, Ubiquiti), filesharing, Microsoft 365, Anti-Virus and Email. Previous Apple experience and currently hold or previously held Apple certifications. You will be expected to maintain certifications relating to the IT industry as well as Apple certifications. 
  • Team Leadership: Need to collaborate with a team of technicians and account managers, as well as clients. You will have the ability to influence, persuade and create positive client relationships.
  • Process Enhancement: You would develop and implement policies and procedures for the IT department, so some familiarity with assessing and improving processes is important. 
  • Communication Skills: You should also be a strong written and verbal communicator. You would be able to communicate with team members, management personnel, and end users within our client base.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: You will be an excellent problem-solver and decision-maker, be adaptable, and have high attention to detail.
