Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent, Assistant Service Manager to work directly for our client located in Mississauga, ON. In this role, you report to the Service Manager of Operations and are accountable for the effective and profitable operations of the Auto Service Center. As Assistant Service Manager you would be a member of the management team and JHS committeeand reporting to the Service Manager..    

  • Location: Mississauga, ON
  • Salary: $55k-$65k/year depending on experience
  • Required availability: Rotating Shifts
  • 1 week - 8:00am-4:00pm for 2 days and 12:00pm-9:00pm for 3 days
  • 1 week -8:00am-4:00pm for 3 days and 12:00pm-9:00pm for 2 days
  • Assignment Type: Full Time | Permanent
  • Responsibilities:

  • Developing a continuity of service department capability in organization and technical competence consistent with the short- and long-term needs of the Auto Service Center. 
  • Obtaining optimum and efficient use of all resources available to the department (skills, capital, physical facilities, tools and equipment, housekeeping, goodwill, and reputation). 
  • Providing leadership through planning, organizing, coordinating, integrating, and measuring results against objectives. 
  • Motivating personnel under his direction toward greater effort and productivity. 
  • Maintaining effective customer satisfaction and emphasizing high quality service.
  • Recommend departmental goals in terms of sales, profits, performance, and market opportunities,
  • Develop the policies, plans and action programs to achieve these goals and initiate appropriate action.
  • Formulate, recommend, and implement weekly, monthly, and seasonal service specials.
  • Formulate and implement service promotion and advertising programs.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of competitive activities, prices, policies, and practices.
  • Solicit new service business including fleet and business work.
  • Maintain good customer relations.
  • Develop and implement internal controls as needed to ensure departmental effectiveness.
  • Undertake frequent checks of department performance including work in process and road testing of completed work.
  • Review, analyze and evaluate programs and results against objectives and suggest necessary or desirable courses of action for improvement.
  • Train employees on the job and/or enroll them in appropriate available courses.
  • Evaluate employee performance and review each employees performance with them.
  • Supervise the maintenance of customer files and a customer follow-up system.
  • Maintain technicians’ productivity and efficiency records and take corrective action as needed.
  • Review repair orders periodically to ensure proper write-up procedures and costing.
  • Review and approve time and pay tickets daily.
  • Review and evaluate operating performance against objectives using he Co-Star and/or other methods.
  • Allocate work on a fair and equitable 
  • Conduct monthly service meetings to maintain good communications.
  • Establish and maintain an effective dress code.
  • Establish and maintain safe working practices and be aware of practices to followed in case of emergency and safety (WHMIS).
     
  • Requirements

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
  • 2-3 years of experience in similar role
  • Communication skills.
  • Familiarity with customer service standards and processes.
  • Budget tracking.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle stress to operate under deadlines.
  • Supervisory skills.
