Adecco Quinte is currently recruiting for a permanent Afternoon Shift Supervisor to work within a production facility located 30 minutes east of Port Hope, ON. This is an exciting opportunity to demonstrate your supervisory skills and experience within a growing production facility, introduce yourself and your skills to a well-established organization. A successful candidate must have the ability to commute daily.

  • Pay Rate: $26.00 - $28.00/hour, depending on experience
  • Job type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Shifts: Straight Afternoon Shifts, Monday to Friday

  • Job responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for shift Quality, Cost and Delivery targets
  • Provides leadership, direction, and coaching to a team of 20-30 Machine Operators
  • Schedules and assigns work to ensure production requirements are met
  • Monitors and ensures efficiency of plant equipment and resources
  • Regularly reviews performance KPI’s and provides effective feedback to teams
  • Fosters an environment of Safety, Teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Performs layered audits, safety inspections and participates in corrective actions
  • Works closely with Quality and Set Up Technicians to ensure products meet requirements
  • Ensures adherence Company policies, procedures, processes, and shop rules
  • Responsible for training & development of new/existing employees with all aspects of the job
  • Effectively executes daily shift audit and communicates status at shift change over
  • Coordinates delivery/removal of raw material, Packaging, skids at the work center
  • Maintains discipline and control in the shop
  • Other duties as outlined by management
  • To qualify, you should:

  • Machinist license, applicable trade certificate or technical diploma strongly preferred
  • Equivalent years of machine shop experience would be considered
  • Minimum 1-3 years of Supervisory experience required
  • Forklift operator’s license and/or experience is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of machine shop equipment, CNC Mills/Lathes required
  • Experience with or working familiarity with CNC Rotary Transfer machines would be an asset
  • Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings with a working knowledge of GD&T
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and overall positive attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently
  • Motivated self-starter with a positive “Can do” attitude and outgoing personality
  • Ability to use basic measuring equipment (Mic, Vernier, Dial Indicator, etc.)
  • Good computer applications knowledge such as MS Word, Excel & Outlook
  • A quick learner with the ability to be trained.
