Our Client located at Weston & Langstaff is looking for a Shipper/Receiver/Forklift Operator.
The working hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday. This role will pay between $18 - 19 an hour.

The Shipper/Receiver/Forklift Operator is responsible for the effective and efficient execution of all aspects of the shipping, receiving  and forklift activities.

DUTIES:

  • Receives, accounts for number of pieces, and distributes incoming shipments accurately.
  • Checks customer order for accuracy (number of pieces)
  • Packs, ships and generates proper documents such as dangerous goods waybills for outgoing shipments.
  • Assists in maintenance functions as assigned by Warehouse Ops manager.
  • Contacts carriers for pickups using phone.
  • Maintains Receipt Log Book and Pick Up Record Logs. Backup for Order Fillers.
  • Participate and ensures direct report participation in annual GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) training.
  • Provide information to the Warehouse Operations Manager, and/or Quality Assurance Manager regarding any unique situations e.g. damaged stock.
  • Other duties as required.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma
  • 3 years warehouse operations experience plus 3 months on the job training, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Forklift License

KEY COMPETENCIES:
  • Be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions, interpret documents, as well as be able to read, speak, write and understand standard English professional journals, technical procedures, and regulations
  • Be able to operate on a Forklift
  • Be able to solve practical problems
  • Be able to perform basic arithmetic computations (i.e. add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole number, fractions, ratios, percentages, proportions, and decimals) and work with mathematical concepts.
  • Be able to use phones, PCs, and other business machines, unassisted.
  • Be able to climb stairs and ladders unassisted
  • Possess normal eyehand coordination
  • Be able to stand for a period of time in excess of 90 minutes
  • Be able to bend, stoop carry, grasp, kneel, and lift without assistance
  • Be able to lift up to 50lbs
