This contract will be between 6-12 months in length. Pay rate between $22-25 dollars an hour, it is fulltime hours. Main shift will be 8AM-4PM with having the ability to work on afternoons from time to time.

 

Job description

  1. Work in close coordination with sales function and traffic division to facilitate efficient and accurate shipping of rolled products to customers.
  2. Prepare, in advance, daily master plan listings (extracted from computer generated loading reports) of items such as orders to be shipped, quantities, sizes and destination of shipments, for use by warehouse personnel and traffic division; update as necessary.
  3. Operate video display terminal (VDT) and printer to generate delivery tickets, loading reports, and bills of lading for shipments to other divisions or customers via company trucks or external transportation such as lease haul, commercial carrier or rail.
  4. Provide copies of mill test certification reports for shipments requiring them.
  5. Issue appropriate paperwork to loading employees, drivers, etc.
  6. Verify shipping rates and update daily shipping status reports.
  7. As directed update inventory, subtracting withdrawals from stock and adding production received from company rolling operations.
  8. Monitor attendance assist with basic payroll functions
  9. Maintain record of employee time bank and vacation usage; answer questions on time bank, vacation usage. Etc
  10. Track and manage overtime for hourly employees.
  11. Update Employee Profiles and Health/Safety information reflecting employee information changes as necessary.
  12. Other duties as assigned by the Shipping / Logistics Department Manager.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Pick up, sort and distribute shipping department mail. Answer telephones; take and relay messages.
  2. Set up appointments and type all correspondence for Shipping Supervisors
  3. Maintain adequate supply of forms and office supplies. Perform all necessary copying, filing and distribution of reports, delivery tickets, etc.
