Adecco is currently recruiting for a Software Engineer - Java. This is a full-time permanent role to work with our client located in Toronto, ON. Our client is looking for a Software Engineer to work on their global payments system. The ideal candidate is an ace problem solver, a learner at heart and has a strong creative spirit. 
The Software Engineer - Java will have the following responsibilities:
• Designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining and improving software
• Building back-end system supporting digital payment, wallet and chat;
• Understanding concurrency, distributed computing, messaging and algorithm, as well as knowing the trade-offs between frequent delivery and technologies;
• Developing tools and contributing to open source wherever possible;
• Continuously identifying and solving problems.
The Software Engineer - Java must meet the following mandatory requirements:
• University degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering;
• 3+ years of professional SaaS platform development;
• Strong knowledge of the fundamentals in data structure, algorithm and object-oriented programming;
• Strong software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages (Java, Ruby, Scala…);
• Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed;
• Experience implementing platform components such as RESTful APIs, Pub/Sub Systems, Database Clients is an asset;
• Familiarity with NoSGL database is an asset;
• Experience with AWS services is an asset;
• Previous experience contributing to open source projects is an asset.
