Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary Software Engineer to work full-time hours for our client in Peterborough, ON. In this role, you will support the embedded software development for the company’s line, including specification, design, testing, documentation, tool qualification, and assisting other software engineers with their design responsibilities.
Pay rate: $44/hour
Location: Peterborough, ON
Availability Required: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm and Friday 8:00am-1:00pm

Responsibilities:
Assist in designing, developing, debugging and unit testing source code for embedded controllers while applying best practice software methodologies.
Design and troubleshoot microcontroller and support circuitry.
Develop clear and concise well-structured and documented source code applicable for software re-use across multiple controllers.
Maintain released code.
Assist Production in resolving design-related issues. Research solutions and prepare documentation as required.
Develop documentation, flowcharts, and diagrams to support problem analysis.
Work with other engineers and departments to research potential useful or alternate algorithms; Participate in requirements, design, and source code reviews.
Support Customer Service and Repair by training and by providing troubleshooting assistance.
Identify and implement opportunities for software process and development cycle time improvements.
Assist other members of the development team to debug and troubleshoot reported issues.
Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
Minimum 3 years of analog and digital hardware design &/ verification experience
Experience within the domain of embedded systems including but not limited to: embedded microcontrollers, FPGAs, sensor acquisition circuits, output drivers, fault and BIT management and environmental protections
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of training and experience
Experience in formal development cycles such as DO-254 or ARP4754A equivalent process
Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools advanced features (Word, Project, Excel, Sharepoint, Teams);
Proficient with Schematic Capture and Design tools, preferably OrCAD or ZUKEN
