Sr. Operations Specialist, Pharmacy

Adecco is currently hiring for a Sr. Specialist, Pharmacy Operating Standards in North York, ON. The ideal candidate will be reporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Pharmacy Operations Development,and will be responsible for updating and maintaining the Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures across the Enterprise. This will include the development, communication and rollout of the national standards. The incumbent will play a key role in supporting regulatory changes and assess current Pharmacy Operational Standards. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures ensuring national consistency.
  • Provides continual improvement to the standards as required to meet new regulatory changes and new Pharmacy initiatives.
  • Acts as a liaison with other departments, ensuring that Pharmacy Operation Standards are adhered to.
  • Responds to operational issues and questions to provide guidance to the Pharmacy Operations teams, Regulatory team, and Internal Pharmacy departments to resolve issues in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Assesses labour and productivity impacts for all new programs and regulatory changes, and leverage IT capabilities and other tools to help minimize impacts, which are to be calculated into labour savings.
  • Required to support the Operations teams.
  • Required to review all Pharmacy communications for accuracy and intent along with monitoring information distributed to stores and questioning communications that may be operationally challenging for the Pharmacy Team or currently requiring further investigation.
  • Ensures all Pharmacy programs and communications accounts for regional variations.
  • Liaises with external vendors and Supply Chain groups ensuring that all Pharmacy consumables, including automation are vetted and available for purchase through our central Distribution Centres or special order.

  • Able to create reports, documents, and presentations.
  • Skills

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years Pharmacy operations experience.
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of either SDM or LCL Pharmacy experience.
  • Solid background knowledge of future Pharmacy practice and initiatives.
  • Experience with expanded scope of Pharmacy practice, e.g., Medication Reviews, and Injection Services, Pharmacist Prescribing etc.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and training skills, combined with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, are essential.
  • Experience with Retail/Long Term Care aspect of Pharmacy services.
  • Fluency in both official languages an asset.
  • Experience

  • Retail Operational Experience
  • Greater than five years, but less than or equal to seven years of business/systems experience or equivalent an asset.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and training skills, combined with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, are essential.
  • Education

  • Post-Secondary Education preferred, but extensive store experience required.
  • Additional courses in Business Administration considered an asset.
