Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent, Technical & Maintenance Manager to work directly for our client located in Orangeville ON. The Technical and Maintenance Manager acts as an expert in the process of molding plastic containers by extrusion and injection. The manager is responsible for product development, machine optimization, complete machine, and facility maintenance according to the needs of the organization to ensure efficiency and reliability of equipment to achieve production goals and drive value for the organization.

Responsibilities:

Evaluates the performance of each member of the team, performs positive reinforcement or addresses discrepancies as the case may be by carrying out rigorous follow-ups to ensure the achievement of production objectives.
Lead the technical and maintenance team to ensure maximum machine up-time, reduce machine downtime, and to optimize cycle time to fulfill OEE, production output and financial performance targets.
Manage projects, to improve and optimize production operations and new equipment integration and automation according to the priorities of the organization.
Responsible for the efficiency, productivity, and optimization of the machine according to the company's master plan.
Document problem solving methods, share knowledge within the organization to increase the level of skills and autonomy of team members.
Responsible for the purchase of equipment, parts and components related to the optimization projects and maintenance repairs.
Responsible for new product development and participates in the technical analysis for quotation requests as needed.
Responsible for starting new molds and machine tooling. Oversees in-house mold and tooling repair. Manages external vendors for mold and tooling repair when beyond in-house capabilities.
Develop a prevention maintenance plan, monitor it using the production management system, and participate in the implementation.
Coordinate maintenance activities according to production schedules to maximize the use of equipment.
Responsible for the technical and maintenance team setup and tear down of machinery and equipment systems required for each production run.
Responsible for leading the technical team to create processing setup sheets and optimizing for best-in-class cycle times.
Ensure a constant check of the equipment and prioritize the repairs to be carried out in collaboration with the maintenance technicians.
Ensure an adequate and constant service to production.
Support the team with troubleshooting when problems occurring during production as needed.
Participate in the leadership team meeting and project.
Key technical contributor to quality defect investigations and problem solving.
Interact with customers and suppliers in a professional manner as needed.
Requirements
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Training in electromechanical or industrial mechanics or any other relevant field
5 to 7 years of relevant experience in extrusion Blow Molding, maintenance, and project management
Ability to effectively read and interpret part drawings. CAD drawing capability not required but beneficial.
Good knowledge with Microsoft office and experience with an integrated management system (ERP)
Availability to support 3 shifts as needed
Strong leadership and good communication skills to influence positively the work environment as part of the leadership team
Structure, rigor, priority management and organization skills
