Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary  Test Engineer  position in Richmond Hill, ON. To qualify for this Test Engineer role, you must have at least 4 years of experience in development of instruments and devices, preferably in the medical diagnostics field or in the context of microbiology applications. Our client is a global leader in developing innovative solutions based on a proprietary technology.

 Test Engineer Requirements:

  • Plan and execute testing activities for electro-mechanical and fluidic devices.
  • Under the direction of our Product Development team, design test plans and develop test cases to support various aspects of instrument and device design development and verification.
  • Design mechanical and electronic test jigs using CAD modelling or sketching techniques.
  • Coordinate purchasing of parts and components and building of test jigs.
  • Participate in the production of prototype and first production builds with a focus on test requirements.
  • Execute test plans and analyze test data.
  • Assist in determining the causes of failures, give suggestions for design improvements and enhancements.
  • Provide feedback to other members of the design and development team.
  • Provide timely written test reports.
  • Performs other duties as required. 
  •  Test Engineer Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of experience in development of instruments and devices, preferably in the medical diagnostics field or in the context of microbiology applications.
  • Background in electro-mechanical engineering systems, with exposure to fluidics, thermal transfer, and optical systems.
  • Hands-on experience in various aspects of prototype device testing and the development of test plans and requirements. 
  • Working familiarity with common laboratory instruments e.g. data acquisition devices, power supplies, multimeter, oscilloscope, etc. preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks, LabVIEW preferred would be an asset
  • Must possess good communication and documentation skills.
  • Superior problem-solving skills, strong initiative.
  • Post-secondary education, at a college or University level in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • University level degree in Engineering is preferred
  • P.Eng considered an asset
