Adecco is currently looking to hire a Test Engineer Technician for our client in Ajax, ON on a 1 Year Contract. This position is responsible for maintaining production and engineering test stations, including preventative maintenance and fault recovery as required. Position would also include maintaining the test equipment database to track and report on calibration, repairs and allocation of test equipment. Additionally, provide support to engineering for the prototype and production of harnesses and test equipment assemblies and qualification testing.



  • Coordinate calibration of all test equipment, maintain test equipment database and borrow out equipment as required.
  • Maintain inventory of test equipment spare parts. This includes quoting ordering and tracking new equipment and components.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of test equipment in the event of failure.
  • Cable harness and test equipment assembly, prototyping and engineering support.
  • Performing preventative maintenance of test equipment as required. This includes inspecting test stations, maintaining aging equipment, backing up the test stations and identifying risks from a tester maintainability perspective.
  • Troubleshooting, modifying and updating software of test equipment in the event of failure.
  • Validating and reviewing software documentation in relation to test equipment.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Technician or technologist diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and understand electronic and mechanical drawings.
  • Good soldering skills. Fine pitch soldering as asset.
  • Basic knowledge of test and calibration equipment (i.e. oscilloscope, multimeter).
  • Intermediate knowledge of AC/DC and digital circuits including: fundamentals of electricity, basic electronic components and circuits.
  • Proficiency in NI LabVIEW with knowledge of NI Teststand and Visual Basic an asset.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages as asset (i.e. Phython, PoweShell, Bash) or a willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of CAD or OrCad basics and asset.
  •  Proficient in MSD Office applications.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet multiple demands and deadlines along with strong organizational skills.
