Adecco is currently hiring a Test and Repair Technician for our client, a leader in the automotive industry, located in Burlington. The pay rate for this role is $31 per hour.
Responsibilities:
Assists in the development & release of production test/audit/programming equipment for the production floor.
Analyzes production issues as they relate to tester capabilities and performance and makes necessary repairs. Assists production in failure analysis of tester fallout.
Performs failure analysis on tester failures.
Recommends corrective actions, procedure changes and strategies for maximizing tester performance.
Analyze any other production or process related issues as requested by Production using continuous improvement processes.
Conducts analysis on defective tester equipment, identify the defect and repair it as required.
Maintain the PM log, update/improve log as required & report on the PM schedule status monthly to management.
Performs preventative maintenance on testers and recommends strategies for enhanced tester performance.
Provides training instruction on testing and conducts assembler training as required.
Assure that the proper training records are filled out & provide the documentation to the proper departments.
Conducts analysis on rework/rejected product by identifying defects and performing repairs on electronic assemblies.
Maintains appropriate documentation for the repair and rework function including detailed statistics and metrics regarding rework and repair.
Support pilot and prototype builds by assembling and testing product as required. Provide feedback to the team on issues found during the pilot build, suggest improvements and corrective actions.
Provides backup function to various production and process manufacturing positions as required. Including but not limited to – maintaining the ESD system & audits, offline high voltage testing, strain Gage testing, maintaining facility lighting.
When requested in coordination with the Equipment & Maintenance Supervisor assists in the outsourcing of ICT fixtures & programming, researching appropriate suppliers, developing quote packages and requesting quotations, track delivery & schedule installation with production.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2-Year Electronics Engineering Technician Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution (or equivalent).
Courses in specific Tester design, software, programming, maintenance.
Minimum 2 years working experience on tester equipment and troubleshooting/repairing assemblies in an electronics manufacturing environment.
Prior working experience utilizing various test and measurement instruments.
Agilent (HP) in circuit test system experience.
Vision inspection experience.
Proficient in programmable logic controls, HMI, & PC based test software to support Manufacturing.
Strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are required in dealing with the Engineering and Manufacturing operations staff.
Internal customer orientation as well as external, recognizing that the manufacturing group is the customer.
Strong PC skills and proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word & Excel) software package and e-mail systems.
Superior soldering/de-soldering skills are required.
Strong analytical and hands on problem-solving capabilities including lean and continuous improvement processes.
Working knowledge of ISO 9000/TS 16949 quality systems.
Basic mechanical knowledge.
Ability to support production shifts (day, afternoon and night shift) and weekend work is also a requirement of this position.
A strong knowledge in IPC soldering standards.
