Adecco Canada has a full time permanent opening for a Vice President of Data in Vancouver, BC. This Vice President of Data role will design, build and drive the overall strategy, methodology and roadmap to produce and maintain YOSS's core data assets.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead a team of software professionals and data scientists to create new matching technology, processes, systems, tools and capabilities in response to the needs of YOSS’s market-facing internal customers and to constantly optimize the manageability, flexibility, and utility of YOSS’s data platform;
Create machine learning algorithms to enable talent matching, conversational interfaces, and other innovative technologies;
Be an active and strategic voice on the YOSS leadership team, driving our core data vision forward;
Design, build and drive overall strategy, methodology, and roadmap for the processes, systems, tools and capabilities required to produce and maintain YOSS’s core data assets;
Continually define process and data architecture to enable continual business scaling;
Create and enforce processes that ensure quality of work with IT team to drive excellence;
Work closely and oversee Product and Engineering teams;
Recruit and retain a world-class team of data scientists, software engineers and developers to build and scale the YOSS platform and enable business acceleration; and
Synthesize the needs of key market-facing stakeholders into clear roadmaps and execution plans.

WAGE:
CAD $140.000 - $155,000.00 per annum based on a 40 hour work week

BENEFITS:
Canadian group health and dental benefits as well as a group retirement savings plan, subject to eligibility requirements under these benefit plans. Position is eligible for discretionary annual increases and performance based bonus. Company phone will be provided. Work related travel expenses will be reimbursed.

EDUCATION:
PhD in Computer Science from an accredited university

EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Two (2) years of experience managing teams of data scientists and software professionals focused on creating robust technology systems;
Two (2) years of industry experience developing databases and search engines that support the recruitment/staffing industry;
Demonstrated experience utilizing data science to develop and improve search and recommendation engines for use in recruitment and staffing environments;
Three (3) years of experience in the research, development, and application of techniques in the intersection of machine learning, deep learning and personalization for the successful delivery of engineering projects;
Demonstrated expertise in machine learning and artificial intelligence applications;
One (1) year of experience working with and leading tech driven teams creating robust software systems with high data output;
Dynamic leadership and management experience of multi-disciplined teams with various priorities;
Past experience as a technical expert in engineering, data analytics, business analysis, BI, etc. prior to holding leadership/management roles;
Experience in a fast-paced, Agile startup environment; and
Experience in contributing to and managing both onsite and remote offshore engineering teams.
