The Vice President, Operations is accountable for the management of After-Sales Service, Customer Care, Warehouse, and Information Technology departments. This role will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization. 

Vice President, Operations Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day company operations. 
• Define and implement operations strategy, structure, and processes. 
• Ensure utilization and process adherence KPIs; structure regular reviews to include KPIs. 
• Oversee management of shifts/schedules, capacity planning, and staffing to ensure complete coverage and full utilization. 
• Maintain a working knowledge of all phases of operations. 
• Identify training needs and ensure proper training is developed and provided. 
• Manage the budgeting process and P&L responsibilities for multiple departments. 
• Offer strategic vision to help the company become more profitable, offer high-quality services, and meet its sales targets. 
• Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions. 
• Provide regular performance updates, reports, and metrics to senior management. Assess system performance and recommend improvements. 
• Play a significant role in long-term planning, including initiatives geared towards operational excellence. 
• Drive initiatives in the management team and organizationally that contribute to long-term operational excellence. 
• Improve operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the organization's vision. 
• Support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning. 
• Enforce IT policies and company best practices across the organization. 
• Maintain and optimize local company networks, computers, and servers. 
• Manage installations, upgrades and configurations of hardware and software. 
• Communicate with management, legal counsel, and the health and safety committee to ensure all processes remain compliant with OHS and other governmental regulations. 

Vice President, Operations Qualification: 
• Strong computer skills are necessary. The ideal candidate this position would possess advanced Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word knowledge. 
• Experience with web-based Portals and ability to quickly learn new environments an asset. 
• Refined ability to delegate responsibilities and provide leadership and training to key personnel. 
• Proven track record as a team leader with an understanding of management practices. 
• Management and hands-on experience with all aspects of warehouse operations in a similar setting, environment and scaling requirements. 
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills (bilingual a plus). 
• Possession of key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organization and decision-making. 
• Demonstrated project and budget management skills. 
• Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental business principles. 
• Analytical problem-solving skills with an impeccable attention to detail. 
• Ability to set overall strategy and drive process improvement. 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus in a high-pressure environment. 
• A polished professional appearance and attitude is required to succeed in this role. 
• Flexibility in terms of hours of work, recognizing that there will be a need for overtime. 
• The ability to analyze and manipulate data to retrieve relevant information and present to management in an organized and easy to interpret manner. 
• Must possess the ability to multi-task, to work on several projects simultaneously, to manage multiple inputs. 
• Must be a quick learner, proactive, pay attention to detail, and enjoy a busy environment. 
• Must have a valid driver’s license, their own vehicle, and the willingness/ability to travel. 

Bachelor's degree (B. Comm.) from four-year college or university; and five to seven years related experience in a similar role driving operational excellence; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have multi-team management experience. Previous P&L responsibility is preferred.
