Warehouse Manager    $55,000 $60,000 per annum

This position is an opportunity for a Supply Chain professional to set up the first Canadian location (outside of the USA) for a leading US client in the mapping and geospacial sector.
Position involves working with complex systems, utilizing problem solving skills and maintaining organization in a fast-paced, multi functional environment.

Initial Key Responsibilities
Working with GM on sourcing warehouse premises within the Vancouver area Attending 2 week training in San Jose, California
Sourcing of vendor partners for warehouse operations racking, shipping materials, couriers etc
Working with GM on obtaining the appropriate business licenses, insurance and permits relating to ongoing running of operation
Setting up warehouse in an efficient and productive manner
Set up Health & Safety program
Set up of documentation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Ongoing Responsible for the smooth operation of the Vancouver location
Ensures all equipment is received physically and entered accurately in the computer system
Ensuring all FRUs are updated, packaged and tested as need be.
Ensure that inventory and restock levels are appropriate for client servicing needs.
Documenting and Maintaining procedures
Maintain appropriate level of customer service both with customers and internal colleagues in other locations
Manage and direct teammates on shipping/receiving prioritization and other duties
Ability to prioritize and work to deadlines
Ensuring all paperwork for shipment and customs is accurate and complete
Generate reports as needed related to stock levels, returns, shipment, turns etc.
Responsible for 6 day a week operation and leadership of one other colleague to start making sure that staffing levels are appropriate for the priorities at hand.
Prep and Maintain stock and inventory levels
Constructing reports based on fulfillment needs
Be able to travel to the U.S.
Pass background check and drug test
Characteristics and background of the successful incumbent:
Minimum of 5 years experience working within a warehouse environment with a minimum of 2 years in a position of leadership and responsibility
Strong documentation and attention to detail
Good computer skills and strong understanding of shipping/receiving and inventory management
Dependable and responsible
Good common sense and a think on your feet ability Self-driven with the ability to work independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an understanding of what mode is appropriate
