Warehouse Supervisor

Adecco is recruiting for a permanent Warehouse Supervisor for our client in Scarborough, Ontario.

Day shift Monday - Friday 9am-5pm

Pay range $25.00-$30.00 hourly rate

Warehouse Supervisor duties:

Responsible for managing warehouse operations in the successful and timely flow of production work.

Assist with and oversee all work that is set-up during the day by all the warehouse staff.

Coordinate with the office staff to ensure accurate and timely shipping and receiving of incoming as well as outgoing shipments.

Maintain documentation and keep accurate records of warehouse activities.

Work with staff on an individual and group basis to maintain order of warehouse.

Perform other duties as required by the nature of the position or as requested by business owners.

Functions and responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the overall warehouse, manufacturing, and assembly operation, which receive and store, move and ship supplies, stock and materials to and/or from the warehouse, assemble certain products and manufacture a range of winter and summer products with the assistance of the management.
  • Manage the overall operation with the assistance of the management and ensure the safe and effective storage and distribution of customer goods on time and without damage.
  • Develop and implement both short- and long-term warehouse planning with the assistance of the management.
  • Manage the human resources needs of the warehouse team and monitor performance with the assistance of the management.
  • Ensure that company is adhering to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan, develop, organize, direct, and control all aspects of the warehouse, manufacturing, and assembly facility operations.
  • Accountable for the planning and direction of all warehouse operations, including developing and monitoring of key performance indicators, security, change management, technology, and all administration activities, such as production reporting with the assistance of the management.
  • Must be able to forecast and manage the production schedule and/or quality of the operation, as well as the health and safety of the employees with the assistance of the management.
  • Provide timely and effective communication through staff meetings, as well as written and electronic communication.
  • Address problems with production, shipping, receiving, assembly, manufacturing, picking, packing, general warehouse jobs, personnel, and their functions.
  • Excellent decision-making skills using the resources of upper management for direction.
  • Motivate and inspire the warehouse team that you are directing.
  • Responsible to resolve conflict and create a positive as well as productive team environment.
  • Proficient with word, excel, outlook and power point and is tech savvy to resolve small IT issues.
  • Analyze data, problem solver, plan and prioritize as well as meet deadlines.
  • Manage the warehousing receiving, stock control and disposal of obsolete stock.
  • Manage the picking, packing, and shipping of all goods to customers.
  • Receive, handle, and prepare items for shipping and receiving.
  • Manage the assembly, and manufacturing of certain products.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts.
  • Process paperwork and prepare shipping documents.
  • Organize shipping of inventory stored at external warehouses from and to our principal warehouse.
  • Perform record keeping, stocktaking and inventory control.
  • Implement and maintain procedures and policies for warehouse safety.
  • Have basic first aid, understand WHMIS, MSDS, OHSA standards.
  • Ensure workers comply with all Acts and regulations.
  • Maintain necessary procedures and policies for material handling, assembly, manufacturing, workplace safety, shipping, receiving etc.
  • Maintain necessary documents for auditing.
  • Understand the necessity for strong compliance and enforcement process.
  • Be familiar and knowledgeable on the storage and safe transportation of pesticides and aerosols
  • Health and Safety:

  • Accountable for health and safety of the warehouse team and must ensure that all standards are followed, including wearing protective equipment.
  • Must maintain a safe and orderly workplace and report any unsafe conditions, accidents or injuries.
  • Such as:

  • Use of forklift
  • Use of ladders
  • Protective clothing and equipment based on manufacturing or assembly job
  • Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Storage and Transportation of Dangerous Goods
  • Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems
  • Red Cross First Aid
  • CPR
  • Agrichemical Warehousing Standards, protocol, and guidelines
  • PMRA regulations and Act
  • National Fire Code
  • Understanding of ESA regulations
  • Pay range $20-$25.00 hourly rate
