  • Pay Rate: $23.10-$27.30
  • Required Availability: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Job type: Full-time | Permanent
  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate new metal components in accordance with product data sheets
  • Repair metal components to restore full functionality and safety performance
  • Solve problems and develop innovative solutions to novel situations that require a fresh approach while still maintaining required standards of safety, stability, and security
  • Maintain tools and equipment to a professional standard
  • Keep workstation clean and orderly to retain a safe and operational work environment
  • Execute welds in a professional manner, examine work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces with templates
  • Work independently or with a small team of other welders to complete large and complex projects
  • Manage workflow, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot problems daily, in addition to fabrication duties
  • Weld assembly as directed by company standards
  • Follow, create, and help maintain welding procedure specifications
  • Always keep work area clean and organized
  • Weld in flat and vertical planes (all position welding)
  • Selects, positions, and aligns and bolts parts or fixtures to be welded
  • Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
  • Read and understand drawings on how dock leveler/lift tables etc. to be manufactured
  • Study blueprints and calculate dimensions, and then use that information to cut or join metal parts together
  • Ensure that parts are made to drawing tolerances and company acceptable quality standards
  • Move parts and sub-assemblies on to fixtures to comply with drawing requirement
  • Weld assembly as directed by drawings or company/customer standards
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
  • Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machine
  • Start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production line
  • May adjust welding heads and tooling according to work specifications
  • Always keep work area clean and organized
  • Weld in flat and vertical planes (all position welding)
  • Selects, positions, and aligns and bolts parts or fixtures to be welded
  • Post-secondary education in welding required
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Welder or Welder/Fitter in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with All-Position welding techniques
  • Knowledge of applicable safety standards
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to multi-task, detail oriented, analytical, organized
