Adecco is currently hiring a Bookkeeper to join a well-established, family-run wholesale distribution company based on Annacis Island in Delta, BC. This is a temporary contract position (6 months, with potential for extension), ideal for an experienced and detail-oriented accounting professional with strong Excel skills, at least 5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, and the ability to work independently.

You’ll handle full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations, tax filings, and support with accounts receivable and order processing in a stable, long-standing business environment.

  • Salary: $54,000/year (based on 30 hours/week)

  • Location: Delta, BC (Annacis Island)

  • Job Type: Full-time | Temporary (6-month contract, with potential to extend)

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (30 hours/week)

Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Manage full-cycle accounting: general ledger, journal entries, trial balance, and financial statements

  • Process accounts payable: match purchases, post invoices, process payments (EFT, credit card, cheques)

  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts

  • Perform subsystem reconciliations to G/L (Inventory, Sales, Purchasing, A/P, A/R)

  • Process payroll using Payworks

  • Prepare and file GST, PST, WCB, and BC Health Tax returns

  • Manage retail store bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online (custom setup)

Administrative Support

  • Assist A/R Clerk as needed

  • Backup support for order processing, including answering phones and entering orders

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a bookkeeper (CPA designation not required)

  • Proficient in custom in-house software (IBM iSeries / AS400 preferred)

  • Advanced skills in Excel, Outlook, and Word

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines

  • Self-starter capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities

  • Comfortable with computers and adaptable to existing systems and processes

  • Accuracy in payroll and data entry is critical
