The responsibilities of the Bookkeeper job opening in Toronto, ON may include, but are not limited to:
Record daily financial transactions and maintain organized supporting records
Reconcile bank accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and completeness of entries
Compile financial statements for scheduled reporting periods
Manage routine banking activities, both in-person and online
Assist with the preparation and submission of federal and provincial tax documentation and remittances
Payroll and benefit administration for the organization
Analyze and review surplus working capital reports
Monitor and document charitable contributions made by the organization
Prepare and process expense reimbursements for senior team members
Generate recurring financial summaries on a monthly and quarterly basis
Provide documentation and assistance during internal and external audits
Support regulatory filings
File HST returns with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
Review transactions and ensure accuracy and data integrity in the various tools
Create and distribute communications when required to internal and external stakeholders
Various related tasks and projects as assigned; flexibility is key!
The qualifications for the Bookkeeper job opening in Toronto, ON include:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a varied Bookkeeper or Corporate Accountant capacity required; fund accounting experience is an asset
Complete post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams and external accounting firm key
Highly detailed and strengths with math/calculations as well as strong follow up skills
Strong organization skills and the ability to take initiative and problem solve as second nature
Knowledge or at least interest in the financial/investment industry
Flexible and a strong independent and team player
