Adecco is currently hiring a full-time highly experienced and safety-focused Chief Power Engineer to lead the operations and maintenance of a complex utilities network supporting a multi-disciplinary industrial site for our client in Kitimat, BC. This role involves overseeing the steam system, thermal fluid heaters, natural gas, water systems, compressed air, sewer systems, and environmental lagoons. This role requires you to provide hands-on leadership to a team of Power Engineers, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Pay Rate: up to $95.00/hour (based on experience)
Location: Kitimat, BC
Shift: Monday to Friday | occasional weekends as needed

Responsibilities:
Ensure safety as the highest priority
Oversee operation and maintenance of the utilities network (steam system, including boilers and distribution, thermal fluid heaters, plant natural gas, process water, potable water, sewer, compressed air and environmental lagoons) of a multi-disciplined group
Directly supervise and hold accountability of 4 operating crews, totaling 11 power engineers.
Work as a member of the technical team and as the area representative for various related engineering projects
Oversees and manage the work of contractors in area
Attend regular planning meetings across multiple departments
Manage and forecast costs for their assigned sector
Participate and lead continuous improvement projects
Lead practical problem-solving workshops with other team members and trades
Qualifications:
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
A minimum of a 2nd-Class Power Engineer Certification for Technical Safety BC (or eligibility)
Certification must include the following EOCP certifications:
Water Treatment level 3
Water distribution level 2
Wastewater collection level 1
Class 3 water ticket preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of power plant operation and the maintenance of associated equipment.
Skill and ability in the control and operation of boilers and auxiliary equipment.
Ability to prepare routine operating reports, SOPs / technical guidance, and accurate records
Ability to coach others and collaborate
Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS systems
Pressure Equipment Inspector certification (NBBI) is an asset
Local to Kitimat or willing to relocate at your own expense
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
