Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that align with the organization’s mission and values.
Write, edit, and distribute engaging content for the client’s website, newsletters, social media platforms, and other communication channels.
Coordinate internal communications to ensure consistent messaging and information sharing across teams.
Craft clear and impactful messages about the organization’s services, health promotion initiatives, and patient programs.
Monitor and analyze communication trends and healthcare-related news to proactively address issues and ensure the team is informed.
Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets to support public relations initiatives and promote the organization’s impact in the community.
Support patient outreach efforts by creating patient-friendly communication materials, including brochures, informational posters, and social media posts.
Assist with crisis communication and help manage responses during emergencies or sensitive situations.
Work with leadership to craft speeches, talking points, and presentations for key events or meetings.
Track and report on communication activities and outcomes to ensure effectiveness and make adjustments when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a communication or public relations role, preferably in healthcare or a related field.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
Experience in content creation for websites, social media, and email communications.
Knowledge of healthcare industry trends and the ability to communicate complex health-related topics clearly to diverse audiences.
Proficiency with communication tools, including social media management platforms, content management systems (CMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with crisis communication and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Familiarity with healthcare communication standards and regulations.
Graphic design skills or familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for creating visuals.
Experience with media relations and developing press releases.
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
