Adecco is currently hiring a full-time detail-oriented and analytical Cost Technician to join our client’s dynamic Well Delivery team in Calgary, AB. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving cost control processes, verifying vendor invoices, supporting financial reporting, and providing valuable insights through data-driven analysis. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Drilling, Completions, Earthworks, and Production teams to ensure cost efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities:
Maintain and enhance the current work ticket verification process through automation to monitor AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) and job-level performance.
Review and validate vendor and contractor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.
Leverage data tools to automate reporting and improve cost visibility for stakeholders.
Resolve invoice discrepancies and provide support for contractor accounts payable issues.
Support reconciliation processes between SAP and Wellview/Siteview systems.
Assist with forecasting, accruals, and cost reporting activities.
Prepare and deliver cost and performance reports to execution teams, including Drilling, Completions, Earthworks, and Production.
Compile and analyze monthly Opex (Operating Expense) performance data to support business decisions.
Support material transfers and inventory tracking for Well Delivery.
Identify and implement process improvements using data-driven insights and best practices.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cost control, project accounting, or financial operations.
Strong understanding of procure-to-pay processes and cost reconciliation.
Proficiency with SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
Degree or coursework in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Information Systems.
Experience with data visualization and analysis tools such as Power BI, SQL, or Python.
Familiarity with automation tools, scripting, and PDF data extraction techniques.
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
