Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced and knowledgeable HR Labour Relations Specialist to join our client’s Human Resources team in Calgary, Alberta. In this critical role, you will support the development and implementation of labour relations strategies and provide expert advice to leaders and employees on collective agreements, employment legislation, and workplace conflict resolution. You’ll help foster positive employee relations and contribute to maintaining a respectful, compliant, and productive work environment. This role requires experience working in a union environment.

Responsibilities:
Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on matters related to labour relations and collective agreement administration.
Interpret and apply collective agreements, employment standards, and relevant labour legislation.
Support contract negotiations, grievance handling, arbitration preparation, and dispute resolution.
Participate in the development, revision, and communication of labour relations policies and programs.
Conduct workplace investigations related to disciplinary actions, complaints, and other employee concerns, ensuring fairness and compliance.
Advise leaders on progressive discipline, performance management, and terminations.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with union representatives and employee groups.
Provide training and guidance to leaders to build labour relations knowledge and capabilities.
Prepare detailed documentation, reports, and recommendations for management.
Monitor trends, gather data, and recommend improvements to labour relations practices.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
A CPHR designation (or working towards one) is considered an asset.
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive HR experience with a focus on labour relations, preferably in a unionized environment in Alberta.
In-depth knowledge of Alberta labour laws, employment standards, and collective agreement administration.
Proven experience conducting investigations and handling grievances and arbitrations.
Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Proficiency with MS Office and HRIS system
Experience working in a union environment is required
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
